The minimum pension age does not apply in the case of ill health retirement. There are two tiers of Ill health retirement and the benefits you get will depend on whether or not you are capable of undertaking employment elsewhere.<\/p>\n<h2>Ill health guide for employers<\/h2>\n<p>You can find more information in our member ill health retirement benefits guide and on our re-employment webpage. For ill\u2011health retirement benefits, \u2018permanently incapable\u2019 means unable to work until the Scheme\u2019s normal pension age. The &#8220;Ill health-AW33E&#8221; form is a crucial document used primarily for applying for ill health retirement benefits within the NHS, allowing members to access their pension early due to health conditions. To be considered for ill health pension benefits, you and your employer will need to complete an AW33E application form. If you qualify for ill health pension benefits, you must complete the retirement benefits claim form (AW8) to request payment of these benefits. If your application for ill health benefits is approved, you will then need to submit the retirement benefits claim form (AW8) to PCSE via the Contact Us form.<\/p>\n<p>For example, medical advisers may ask for evidence from your GP or specialist if they think the information provided is not enough or it may be helpful to their assessment. If your form is not fully completed, it may be returned, and this will delay your application. You can get your retirement benefits early, with no reduction to the amount you\u2019ve earned so far. In the 2015 NHS Pension Scheme the normal pension age is State Pension Age (SPA) or age 65 if this is later. The normal pension age is 60 in the 1995 Section, age 65 in the 2008 Section.<\/p>\n<p>To qualify for a Tier 1 ill\u2011health pension, you must be permanently unable to carry out the responsibilities of your role. To be eligible for ill health retirement, your ill health must be one of the reasons you are leaving work. The tier you receive will depend on\u00a0how serious your condition is and whether you may be able to work in the future. Following the review of the HSC Injury Benefit Scheme, a new Injury Allowance scheme will be introduced on 31 May 2013. More information can be found on the HSC Injury Benefit Guide. The Injury Benefit Scheme can provide temporary or permanent payments to you or your dependants if you are absent from work, unable to earn as much or die as a result of the injury or disease.<\/p>\n<h3>Members with benefits in the 1995 or 2008 Sections who are members of the 2015 Scheme<\/h3>\n<p>A separate scheme covers HSC Staff and Practitioners (whether they are in the HSC Pension Scheme or not) for injuries or diseases contracted in the course of work. If dismissed for any other reason you cannot qualify for an ill-health pension. In particular, Part C of the AW33E which is required to be completed by the Occupational Health Doctor.<\/p>\n<p>However, if their life expectancy is less than 12 months, they can choose to receive their retirement benefits as a one-off lump sum. It is vital for applicants to provide truthful, complete, and precise information to avoid such penalties. Failing to provide these attachments can result in the application being deemed incomplete. Each stage ensures that the applicant&#8217;s case is robustly supported by medical evidence and employment impact details. This form requires careful attention to ensure all sections are accurately filled out, as incomplete or incorrect submissions could delay the application process.<\/p>\n<p>If you become too ill to work, you may be able to retire and take your pension benefits. If this happens you can download the application form AW240 available to download form our Scheme Forms\u00a0section. Your benefits may be reduced or withdrawn if you take up further HSC employment after retiring early due to ill health. If you are a current Scheme member, have at least two years membership and are too ill to work in your present job you may be able to retire early and take your pension benefits. Any old or outdated versions of the forms received after 1 November 2020 will be rejected. Please ensure the correct version of the application form is used and sent to NHS Pensions to consider.<\/p>\n<p>When sending ill health application forms, please ensure that all reports are enclosed including any report from a member\u2019s specialist(s). AW33 NP is an application focusing on cooking information and nutrition and health knowledge.<\/p>\n<h3>Application Process &#038; Approval Time<\/h3>\n<p>If you\u2019re terminally ill and your life expectancy is less than 12 months, your benefits will be calculated as Tier 2 ill health pension benefits, and you may take your benefits immediately as a lump sum. A team of doctors and advisors <a href=\"https:\/\/banglabet-bd.com\/\">https:\/\/banglabet-bd.com\/app<\/a> qualified in occupational health will provide an independent assessment based on all available medical evidence and make a recommendation to us. Once received, your application will be reviewed by our medical advisors.
